All items are guaranteed to be original except where otherwise described.

Payment is in Canadian funds and may be made using money orders, VISA, PayPal or personal cheques. If paying by personal cheque, please allow sufficient time for bank clearance if you are unknown to Vimy Militaria. All Canadian purchasers are charged 5% GST, and residents of Ontario and provinces subject to HST are charged an additional 8% provincial sales tax. We encourage foreign clients to use VISA as currency conversions are done automatically. Please include your card expiry date and name in full as it appears on your card when paying with VISA.

Note that shipping is charged at cost and is added to your bill.

You may reserve an item by letter, telephone, e-mail or in person. As we do not maintain store premises or keep office hours, e-mail and/or letter are the surest ways to reserve an item. The answering machine is usually on, but should you have any difficulties please send a letter.

Grading of Medals

Medals are designed to be worn by their recipients, and as such they invariably bear some evidence of handling or use. Please keep this in mind!

Mint=In as new condition as issued by the mint

EF=Extremely Fine - In almost unworn condition

GVF=Good Very Fine - A few surface marks and nicks

VF=Very Fine - Slight wear on the high points of the design. Surface marks from contact with other medals

NVF=Near Very Fine - Some wear and surface marks

F=Fine - Slight wear overall. Surface marks and perhaps edge knocks

VG=Very Good - Considerable wear, all basic design apparent, details worn

The abbreviation EK refers to edge knocks, caused when two medals come into contact or when the medals have been dropped over the years. Most medals have at least one or two, although a medal awarded posthumously or never worn by the recipient is sometimes free of them.
